Every time I reversed a blank for any reason I struggled to centre it, so I turned a spigot with a MT2 on one side that registers on the faceplate on the other. I can line the sacrificial disc up perfectly before hot glueing it, or could use it as a press. (this example is a bit extreme - I'd usually turn a lot more of the bottom half before reversing the blank)

That looks alright to me.
Can I ask what make of glue gun you use? I have a cheap one, blackspur or something, and I find it struggles to stay hot enough so looking for any recommendations cheers.
