I had Sketchup 13 and tried to upgrade to Sketchup 15. It allowed me to download Pro, but after a trial 2 day period even though it says I can have 'Sketchup Make' for free it won't run it and keeps asking for the license number. Any ideas?

It sounds like you installed the pro trial version instead of Make. You can download Make here.

Hi thanks. I've been downloading and un-installing for the last 7 hours and have been liasing with the guys on the Sketchup forum. There have been people with these issues since last October. Some have been resolved. I'll try your link and report back, but what happens is that I download a 2014 version, being careful to go for make and not pro. It then upgrades itself to 2015. I have tried to download the 2015 version but it won't run on my computer (Vista). I'm assuming that it's left something behind and when i download the 2014 version it finds it and converts it to the newer version.

Edit. Had a look at the link. went there very early in the day. Have tried several other sources since. Thanks for the input.

SketchUp won't upgrade itself from one version to another. They are all treated as stand alone programs. You're right about SU2015 not running on Vista. It won't run on any unsupported operating system.

At this point I think I would uninstall anything related to SU2014 and 2015, run CCleaner to clean the registry (run it several times until you get nothing to clean) and then try installing SU2014 if you really want to upgrade from SU2013. You can get SU2014 here but as I understand it, you have to install the pro version and after the 8 hour trial period it should change to the free version.

I've cured it now. The tech on the SU website forum gave me a direct link to the 2014 version of make. Cured. Thanks for your interest.
