If I lay 50mm celotex on a concrete floor then caberflooring on top, will it be strong enough forum workshop tools/machines?

The heaviest is 350kg

I want to insulate the floor as its the last thing to be done in my workshop ready for winter. It also helps flatten the floor so I can wheel things around.

Cheers in advance

Hight there
I have never put a insulated floating floor in a work shop but have don plenty of house and flats
The proper method would be to put a reinforced screed over the top of the insultion but if you know the position of the michinary you can put timber grounds down to take the wait.

Hi Yorkie ,, Latex screed the floor first to get it level and then carry on,,if you don"t get it level to start with it gets worse as you progress,,

Thanks for the advice.

The current concrete floor is a little pitted so was looking to level it off.

I should have said that I hope to move the machines around on casters now and then. Should I lay bearers down between the celotex?

A reinforced layer on top wouldn't be an option

As Kostello says, expanded polystyrene. This also is available in various grades - I use the denser grade under my machines with no problem.

Hi,
I used self levelling compound first and then a damp membrane followed by 50 mm Cellotex and this was topped with Chipboard flooring and have Felder machinery standing on this for the past 4 years and have not had any problems.
Regards
Michael.
