John,
Eureka! My filing system works. I paid a total of £183.94 incl. VAT and delivery. The part no. is: AXD000002. That is the 'Industrial Dust Deputy 2". Make sure you state the size required. Mine came with an adapter.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Jim

So the one you've got is this http://store.oneida-air.com/dustdeputypackage-complete-1.aspx.
I was thinking of this one http://store.oneida-air.com/thesuperdustdeputy.aspx mainly because of the 4" connections, but it's a lot of money

Did you buy from their UK outlet or direct from the States ?

Mark

Hello Mark. I bought from the UK Distributor whose name I can't instantly recall. I'll look it up and let you know. The unit I have is:

In a bit of a rush at the moment but don't hesitate to ask anything your not sure about.
Regards,
Jim
PS On the subject of dustbin lids, I have one (from Camvac) , unused surplus to requirements now I have the Dust Deputy.

Jim - Do you have any trouble with a 2.5" pipe getting blocked with chips from your p/t ? This is really the one machine that's been driving me towards a 4" system but I can see a lot of advantages, both economical and space-wise, of going for the same 2.5" setup that you have.

I know its not the prettiest prototype on the planet, and I really must take some updated photos now its all sprayed up. But basically I back engineered the design from ones already mentioned in the thread and knocked it up in a few hours. The intention was to re-make in sheet aluminium with sealed/rivetted joints. Problem is that it works so well (on the shop vac) I`m loathed to start the "real one".

I admit I`m using it HPLV on the shop vac (rather than HVLP on the chip collector) but come on guys even if the deputy was £50 (which I gather its NOT) it would be far too expensive.

whilst at the tip at the weekend, I saw a pile of dysons and wondered if one could be "modified" into a DC for finer dust (not chips) ????
