I have been looking for a good quality cabinet saw for a while now. I see that America has a much better selection of quality cabinet saws than we have on offer here in the UK/Ireland/Europe. Has anyone actually used both the American and Euro saws, is there any discernible difference? When it comes to the power issue, from what i have read on the spec sheets of the american saws, this is not an issue.
I have 20+ year old, 3hp, 10" contractor saw at home, which is great for ripping sheet goods, framing and roughwork, however I am moving into making furniture pieces, cabinets, tables, bookcases etc. So I now see the need for a cabinet saw.
I normally try and buy the best I can - I prefer spending extra money now and having a saw or tool that I'll still have in 20-30years (with a bit of care along the way).
Any advice is welcome. Oh and I am trawling through the forum for previous post, so apologies for another cabinet/table saw post
