Plenty flying around in perfect circles over the North East at 1.32. Stacking I presume.

flightradar24.com I find interesting, it has live tracking of all aircraft and if you hover over an individual airplane the flight number shows.

Fascinating. What are the flights showing 'No Callsign'? Are they military?

Military generally not for obvious reason and also because they most use a difference system. Callsigns can change mid flight and not show up. Some airlines block flights on FR24. Also depends on age and type of technical equipment on board and in some cases an aircraft's detail is withheld from public view. Furthermore some differences between various tracking stations and the platforms the various authorities use around the globe.

At 2.00 a figure of 8 seems to be the holding pattern over Belfast. Should be fun...

On flightradar24 if you click on any of the aircraft it gives you where from/to, altitude, speed, etd/eta, squark, about all but the drivers name. You can filter it down so that you can watch a particular aircraft or the whole of Europe/Africa/etc.

I use it when we have visitors on their way and into Carcassonne, Salvasa. That way we can make sure where they are and what time we have to leave home to meet them. It's only about 15 mins for us.
