Burning tongue

Bit of a longshot this but I never cease to be amazed by the wide range of knowledge by forum members

For the last couple of months, my tongue has become very sensitive to red wine, toothpaste, spicey food..resulting in a burning sensation down one side. I've tried Googling without much success.

Any suggestions as I like my red wine

Sounds like rabies to me, Roger, or bubonic plague perhaps.

I hope it goes away, not being able to drink red wine would be a terrible fate.
