I am making an external door for a customer which will have tongue and groove boarding (about 17mm thick) on both faces leaving about a 10mm gap/void in the middle. I wondered if it was worth putting some bubble wrap type insulation in this gap to improve the performance of the door?

Has anybody tried this or got any thoughts like it might cause condensation within the door?

Many thanks, Doug

I'd use the 10mm insulation board that they make for heated tile floors.

Would bubble-wrap eventually decompose or 'deflate'? Just a thought.
