BT Warning

BT warning when we went over to fibre optic with plus net BT changed our line box. Yesterday the phones packed up, checked the phones and all ok then reported the problem and they did a few checks and said it was a fault on the line and said BT would be out Monday. Thought about this and took the front of the box and bypassed the filter and fitted an external one, all working now. Got back on the phone and checked who was responsible for the front part of the box! Well I am as there are no wires to the back of the box. If BT had come out fix it there would be a £99.00 call out charge and a £30.00 charge for the box.

If it happens again, remove the front plate and plug a known good phone/filter directly into the backplate. Then you have isolated all the internal wiring, which is your responsibity.
