So, I'm routing out some hinges on a kitchen I am building and I'm struggling to get my Festool 1010 into a couple of the gaps I've left myself - still learning, and probably should have routed the face frames before putting them on. Hindsight.

I've got the UJK Metric guide bush set I use frequently in all my routers, but I'm trying to find out if there is an adaptor for the little GKF600, whose smaller footprint might be just what I need.

Bosch seem to give conflicting info on that, but one of the kits you can get the Bosch in appears (from the picture at least) to supply a base that may or may not accept the standard Bosch SDS. In which case, the overpriced SDS Leigh adaptor will fit and work, albeit a rip off at £27.

Anyone used one? Anyone have any buying tips on this? Cheapest kit appears to be from Powertool World, especially as I have loyalty points to use up.

Thanks in advance.

If you are fitting normal butt hinges... Knife the perimeter and rout carefully with a dovetail cutter...
The angle of the cutter lets you cut to the line with a small relief cut so that the hinge slides in...

Cheers, but I forgot to say I had managed to do it, partially routed and finished with a chisel.

The question still stands though in terms of "knowledge", plus I feel like the Bosch might be a little more one handed than the Festy and more suited to this in the future.

I bought the plunge base for my GKF600, must admit it has turned it into a perfect tool for hinges, although I only use it on regular doors with a Trend skeleton hinge jig. If you go down this route you'll need to get the SDS adapter to add to the plunge base if you want to use the Bosch quick release guide bushes, I got mine from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191742508934 same thing from the States is about a fiver http://www.rockler.com/bosch-template-g ... er-ra-1126

I also have the Trend unibase to use Trend guide bushes.

Considering I only wanted to add a "blank" Leigh sized hole in the bottom to allow the use of the set of bushes I already have, it's starting to sound prohibitively expensive - and I'm comparing that to a Festool :)

I'll perhaps stick with what I have. Was just hoping in this setup - http://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/bosch-g ... xtra-bases - the round base might be able to accept something Leighish.
