Hi All,

Quick question really, I want to stain a piece of wood black, if I then glue it to another block will it stick and also if it dose not line up exactly how do I redye it if I have to plane it.

Wood is to be used as bread board ends.

Cheers

Usual practice is NOT to glue breadboard ends as this restricts wood movement.

I don't think glue strength will be compromised if you use water-based dye. Partial recoating might be trickier. Doing a whole surface or edge and using masking tape, rather than trying to 'blend in" a patch might be the best bet.

cheers,

Ike
