Best black stain for Plywood

Hi there,

I have a guy who has made something out off plywood and wants to stain it black. He has tried some Ebony miniwax but it has come out blotchy.

What type of wood stain would be best, a oil or water based.

Some advice would be great.

Whats the plywood to be used for? possibly spirit black stain then black polish over the stain

Hi there,

The guy has basically built something the same as me and that was a subwoofer but essentially it acts like a piece of furniture.
