Thats a bit of a hard question to answer at the moment because i'm just starting out but it will be only able to cut the following

Max depth of cut 3 inches and
Width of no more than 7 inches, mainly softwood but could be hardwood.

Narrowed it down to the following (i think!)

Second hand Sip 01545 - £160
New Record Power BS250 - £230
Second hand kity bandsaw - £225
New axminister AWHBS250N - £250

Anyone got any of the above or could recommend me?

Thanks

I have just been offered the sip for £150.

Anyone got any of the above machines? I'm swaying towards the Axminister but not sure.

Hi Paul,

they are all good machines, but having only recently started myself since the start of the year, my small and first bandsaw, although very accurate and tuned up well, will only give me a 6" depth of cut. This has already become frustrating and I am now looking to buy something better with a 10-12" depth of cut within the next few weeks. Do think about what you will need it for and remember that the saw will have a limited throat, to restrict the length of timber you can cut to the left of the blade.

Alex

From your list apart from the kity (613?) they are all pretty much the same models, just minor variances between companies. The kity would be my first choice out of those. :)
