I'll use tuffsaws then. he seems to have an amazing international following( despite not shipping!) surely people in Europe make blooming bandsaw blades. I found the vari tooth a bit to fine and burny ( it was 6- 10 tpi) probably get 3 tpi m42 blades. the amusing thing is my neighbour cuts steel and they last ages. the m42 does last well though. carbon will still cut but they stop cutting straight after a few months.

Yes, I can buy bandsaw blades in Italy but on the whole, there is no market here for specialised items in small quantities. Even the shops selling the blades don't really understand the materials and the geometry. They'll quite happily sell you a blade designed with teeth for metal even if you're cutting wood.
Tuffsaws has a good selection and I can choose the most appropriate blade. Something I can't do easily here.
Most shops selling professional materials/tools will only sell to you if you have a VAT number, Hilti is a good example, and many have a high min charge, 50 euro would be typical.
