Does anyone know any places that would have these in stock in South Wales? The nearest I can find for the ply is Bristol and I can't find Douglas Fir anywhere.

Thanks

Chris

It may be worth calling DG Heath just outside Swansea. I bought some birch ply from them a while back and the price wasn't too bad. I can't remember exactly (it was part of a larger order), but certainly between £50 and £60 per sheet.

Hi Chris, as part of my wood yard Investigations Swansea Timber and Ply came up. They were recommended by someone who isn't on this forum. You can find them here.

HTH.

Thanks all. Heath and Montimber don't have B grade or better, and I'm phoning Swansea Timber who do seem to have B grade but in sizes other than 18mm (which is what I want, of course) and I can't get an answer. I'll update if I have any success, in case anyone else is interested.

Thanks again, C

if you get no luck there try hancock and brown in swansea if its not in stock they would order it they also deliver if thats any good , ian

I personally avoid Swansea Timber and Plywood due to their supercilious attitude and rip off prices. It's been years since I last contacted them, but out of interest I've just called for a similar quote as last time - 3m of 6x1 planed American white oak. £71.50 inc. vat.

No thanks.

Thank you for the update, they were a recommendation of a friend of a member of the forum.
