Hi All,

My father has realised at the grand age of 90 that he can no longer use his wood lathe. He actually realised this a few years ago but has eventually "let go" of it. It's a CCL perform and he has asked me if I would like.
Naturally I said yes.

He lives some 280mls away and I'll be going to collect it in a few months.

Can any one tell me how long the bed is. My Dad'a not really mobile enough to go and measure it and he's probably forgotten that sort of detail. I realise that it can be dismantled and I imagine the bed is going to be the longest part and so transport (ie choice of car) has to accommodate this. I've been told that it is very similar to one of the current Axminster products but there are two size of be 750mm and 1000mm and I don't know which is the most similar.

Also is there a user manual available on line that I can download.
Edit: the link at axminster tools is dead.
Edit 2: Just found http://www.usinages.com/Documentations/Axminster CCL.pdf for any who are interested.
Edit 3: Manual gives overall length as 1.570m so I've answered my own questions.
Many thanks

Andy

From my recollections of the one I had you can base dimensional decisions on the awvsl900.

And any servicing will be the same.
Basically make sure the motor drive pulley shaft is greased occasionally. (grease nipple on end of motor shaft)
Clean out any dust and debris from the headstock pulley and speed adjustment mechanism, ensure any grub screws are still tight.
Lubricate headstock end of mechanism with PTFE dry lub.
