After 23 straight auctions in a row I have finally managed to buy a set of pig sticker mortice chisels without being sniped in the last few seconds. its only taken 3 months

It's not that they put a higher value, they just have deeper pockets. I know it's the way the game is played but can be frustrating.

@phil.p - all I can say is "you lucky lucky B********" to quote a well known film

I don't use mortice chisels very much but a month or so back needed something better than I had.

I looked around on eBay but found they were asking silly money BIN for old pig stickers and I didn't want to wait bidding and probably losing auctions.

So for 15 quid bought a new Narex. Very nice too. Not much point chancing with second-hand stuff with new at this price. Now I see Workshop Heaven are offering 4 for 45 quid (inc.P/P and a tool bar). Not the prettiest handles but wish I noticed earlier!
