Just an experiment.
Ash crutch turned wet I used Lemon oil for sanding and then finished with Hard wax Oil and when dry Woodwax22 to add shine. Time will tell to see if it cracks but because it is turned relatively thin it should move rather than crack.
There was so much grain pattern going on in such a small area of the tree

It stands 4 1/4" tall

Got me fooled, was expecting 2-300mm high from previous posts an progress.
Neat little piece.

Yes Brian still on but waiting to see if it stays when fully dry.

Chas.
Very deceiving when on the lathe and knowing the size of wood it came from started out going to be a bowl but due to a great hollow in the middle which would not have survived the turning I managed to save this piece which seemed to have a good bit of character in it

That's really gorgeous looking, have you any more examples of this finish on the ash, It really suits, its so bright.
Gonna keep this message in the subs :D
Thanks
Tom

Merry Christmas :ho2
