Have not done a lot since the competition as trying to sort out the greenhouse some little angel(add appropriate name you wish to call them) decided that it was good for target practice.
Anyway to get back in the shed decided to turn some salt and pepper shakers. The first is made from Yew and the second from an unknown wood. Both sets have been sealed inside as well as the finish on the outside. The tops and plugs for the bottom came from Turners Retreat, I have left the blue protective film on as these will be going onto a stall.

C & C welcome

Thank you all. I tried to keep them simple as the majority of people like the plainer styles and not the fancy types.

This may seem an odd question but I'm confused :?

The bung I see in your photo appears to be a plastic - probably polythene (which I consider good) - whereas the bung shown as a separate item on Turner's Retreat is described as 'Rubber' - and appears to be a very different product. Can you confirm that the bung you used is the same one as supplied or did you source them elsewhere?

You are looking at the wrong one they are indeed rubber but the ones I used have a top for both the salt and pepper and the plastic bungs look at the next row up and the third one along it show a picture of the completed pots priced at £2.26 for the set the discription states rubber bungs but as you can see from my pots how they are supplied but best to check in case they have changed them.

If you want to buy just the bungs then have a look HERE Nothing to do with me

Nice! Number two looks very much like some sort of Mahogany.

Thanks Dalboy - especially for the eBay link - that's exactly what I was looking for. If (when) I make a pair I'll probably make the tops of solid Silver so wouldn't need the tops and wouldn't want to use rubber bungs.

Two sizes of bung ordered and press tool 'Die' made for the silver tops.

Now I have to select the timber(s) for the body.
I also have to order the silver sheet but I need to accumulate a £25 order to qualify for free delivery so that won't be tomorrow :(
