In my latest ebay'd jamboree bag of sometimes useless, sometimes interesting bits and bobs I've acquired this:

Just wondered....can we agree a name - is it a Rounder Plane, a Stail Plane a Stave Plane.......or ?

Blades are by J.Howarth one at a skew on each side), no makers marks on (Beech) body, handles in Boxwood or lookalike.

Chris.

Oh, and there's a couple of other bits I'll post soon for clarification....

Hi Scrums,

Definitely ( ) a witchet! But never saw that style, just know the ones in rebate style with the blade sharpened well high on the "wide" side. So maybe it's not at all a witchet!

No-one's ever managed it yet; see?

That's the sort my godfather has - still covet it, still haven't a hope in Hades of getting it. :(

Cheers, Alf

I don't remember ever seeing a double bladed one before
