Hi Brian. I agree with you. Iroko is a beautiful wood and it is a joy to cut on the scroll saw. I had a delivery of wood come yesterday and I had several planks of Iroko along with a few other species. If you want to see some really nice grain patterns on wood look for some Yew and Elm. Wood is even better if you can get it quarter sawn as the grain patterns are even more beautiful.
What continues to amaze me even after many years is getting a rough sawn plank that does not look like anything special, run it through the planner and sand it down and you are gazing at a piece of wood in all it's glorious colours, for me it is always an amazing transformation from the ugly to the beautiful.

Are these solid or made of glued strips? If the latter do these tend to be okay to scroll saw?
They have some amazing wood, are these good value? I am really struggling to find affordable wood of more variety from an online supplier.

I agree with marcros, some of these pieces of wood can be lethal. My wife is giving me a fretsaw for Christmas but have to wait for Father Christmas to deliver it ! I am concerned about the blower on the saw it might keep the work piece clear but the dust goes straight up in the air, I am going to try to rig up some suction in that area perhaps a tee off the main suction underneath. another warning is when cutting MDF, terrible stuff to inhale. I have spent most of my working life in a hospital so am very conscious of lung diseases etc. have been reading some threads about working in cold sheds and garages so perhaps a face mask might help to keep your nose warm as well as keeping the dust out of your lungs. that smiley is still waving at me, I'm really concerned that he might need help.
