12mm vertical battens...what type of wood for a wooden shed?

I'm going to put 12mm battens in a wooden shed and then breathable membrane and then insulation. the battens are to maintain the air gap

I'm just checking the type of wood I need in case there's a water ingress? I'm guessing treated or is something like this ok?

If you can find treated the right size it won't be any more expensive so you may as well use it. TBH anything I build outdoors, especially if you can't see the timber, gets built with treated stuff.

Get treated if you can or failing that give it good soaking of clear preservative in case it get damp

Roof batten say 19x38 would be better and cheaper. 12mm is not much of an air gap.
