Nice photos of your new mouse catcher.

Is this yours, too?

Sorry, I have a farming background....but they are pure vermin and should be hunted to extinction. The only animal apart from humans that kills for pleasure and not just what it can eat. Some day...and it's purely my opinion the urban fox is going to have a child of breakfast and attitudes will again change to a country folk perspective.

Ps Our cat used to kill birds etc for pleasure he never ate any but left them on our kitchen doorstep as a present

They weren't presents, he was trying to teach you how to hunt as you we're obviously incapable of doing it on your own.

What a beautiful creature to have in your garden. I think a little of nature encroaching into our artificial space is enriching, although a little control is necessary at times, e.g. mice in the car.

Blow its head off..... or snare it (and then blow its head off).

Bloody things... said my chickens.

I think its well proven that foxes do not kill for pleasure, its known as surplus killing and they will given the opportunity kill more tha they can eat and bury a cache.

Foxes live on the edge of survival esp in rural areas, with a lifespan of about 18months. They arr self limiting as breeding stops if food is scarce.

Urban foxes probably live on pizza :D

I would say that those people that enjoy fox huntjng kill for pleasure.

I don't know if chocolate is poisonous to foxes, but I'd take a wild guess it is.
The theobromine is the poison that can kill a dog, they will store it in their body's, but if I'm not mistaken
they can overdose on it too.
I have heard of vets prescribing hydrogen peroxide to make the dog quickly vomit it out.
Just thought I'd mention it for Dainty's sake :D
Great photos

My daughter's cat (Presently in my care) kills for pleasure. Which I think is normal for domestic cats. This week she's presented me with two house-sparrows, two newly fledged hedge-sparrows, and a field-mouse. I managed to rescue one bird yesterday which flew into the prickly Mahonia bush. If the bird survives, I think it might have to spend its life with just one leg, but that's nothing new. At least it could fly.

It distresses me, but I know it's just cat behaviour, and I have to admit 'Katy' is an efficient killer. She uses a method I've only ever seen used by the Serval. She jumps a good metre in the air, and literally scoops the birds in flight. Far too fast for my phone-cam... Sorry.

And Claymore... We don't leave bin-bags in the street in Walsall. We would be fined if we did. Birmingham on the other hand has only recently adopted wheelie bins.

That's a normal move, for cats.

They're very good at killing, in a wide variety of sophisticated ways.

I'm also a dog lover.......the dogs and I have a similar shared view about cats too! Wow, that's two very controversial posts I'm clearly unwell!! Apologise to all the cat and fox lovers out there

My Grandson in Bavaria has just had a big bill to replace wiring and electronics in his vehicle. Local Stoats have a regular habit of sleeping in the engine compartment at night for the warmth.
No problem with your own vehicle at your own address as it's marked as his/her territory. Park in the next village overnight in another Stoats territory though and you are likely to have a big bill.
