Hi I'm looking for some advice on what would be the best freud saw blade for my dewalt 717 sliding mitre saw. Its 250mm in diameter and I would like it to have 60 teeth. I believe it needs to be negative rake but I can't see on freud's site which one to choose. Many thanks john

That sounds expensive to me, I just looked on the bearing boys website and they have a 2 hp cap start cap run single phase motor for £198.00 including VAT. There are dimension drawings so you can check against.

If I were you I would take the motor out and take it to a motor rewinding company, after getting a quote first. Then at least you know that the original motor will fit back.

I have a transwave static converter running a wadkin ber3 with a 5.5 hp motor and although it works ok I would definitely go for a rotary type if i was to buy again for the simple reason that you have less power loss. Regards Arfon.

I don't think they're the same, I believe Ian makes them to order. Maybe made to the same specs using a similar technique. I'm sure all bandsaw blades are made to order. The blades that i purchased has starrett woodpecker written on them from both companies.

I've had blades from justbandsawblades and tuff saws, both the same blades slightly cheaper at tuffsaws. Each cut the same.

Thanks for your reply. I took the top off the spindle housing tonight and there seems to be plenty of grease around the bearing. So I cleaned out the old grease and put fresh grease in. I'll se tomorrow how it runs. As you say the bearings are SKF 6211 which I don't mind having a go at changing...
