    Why's the buisness gone bust

Did you ever consider that one sale of a of length of 1"1/4 box wasn't a real money maker for them? I've been on both sides of the counter, and I prefer this side.

Merchants in or around North Wales

Hi Hew, The Oak Frame Timber company in St Asaph normally have some nice stuff. There's also Caerwys Sawmills. Tragically Roger Haydock in Colwyn Bay has now become Huws Gray and stock the virtually nothing. If you want some hardwood for practicing cutting joints with, I'm sure I could clean...

    Fence Post Fixings

I'd use Multi Monti or Thunder Bolt fixings. Spax to a comparable product as well: http://www.axminster.co.uk/product-Spax ... -29833.htm

    Spectacles !

Brings me in mind of my old man. When he was still able to get out to the workshop, you'd often see him with as many as three pairs of specs(or 'bins' as he used to call them) perched on the end of his beak. He used to get plenty of stick for it as well!

Calling model engineers / metal workers

Just had a bit of a graze of the internet and found one at Penny Farthing: http://www.pennyfarthingtools.co.uk/new-metalwork.htm £1500 with a couple of chucks and some other bits and pieces. As long as there isn't too much wear on the bed, there's no reason why your friend shouldn't get much...

Calling model engineers / metal workers

If it's in decent nick, I'd expect to get between £1250 and £1500 for it.

    Google street view intrusion?

I think it's Sterling Lines in Hereford. You can tell by the colour of the boathouse. :)

    Google street view intrusion?

If that's where I think it is, I'm not sure terrorists would want to get in there. Things might get a bit noisy.

    Axminster Powertool Centre

Hmm, Axminster buy one, get one free offers on Festool. That'd be nice. Be very wary of any 'Dom for sale' threads I post in future. Changing the subject slightly, why on earth don't Festool ship a decent manual with the Dom? I've managed to find one online now, but six hundred and odd...

    Axminster Powertool Centre

On Monday I finally took the plunge and ordered a Domino. It turned up yesterday with Axminster's usual excellent next day delivery. I managed to make some time to have a play with it last night and it turns out the unit was faulty. With a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach I did the usual...

    Lyndhurst Woodworking

The only plastic I can find on my SIP 01446 are the two blade adjustment wheel, the crown guard and the switch gear. Unfortunately the height adjustment wheel broke on my saw. However, I think this was more down to the silly person delivery driver dropping the saw off the pallet. Note the jaunty...

Norm's mitre station and storage build (WIP)

Tragically there isn't room for the radial arm, but if you look at the pictures closely, we have managed to incorporate a fire extinguisher.

Norm's mitre station and storage build (WIP)

Right then, we got a bit done tonight..... First up was cutting the elements of the counter top frame to size..... Next we made the half lap joints for the cross members and stretchers. This was done with the RAS. No stacked d*do head cutter here - lots of backwards and forwards with a...

    Full extension drawer runners

Anyone used these? Any advice on full extension runners would be welcome. I'd rather avoid Rutlands if possible. Thanks, Ed.
