    has anyone used the leigh jigs. it seems they can go as small as the 9mm but want to make sure about the width.

    Ideas for wood type for large garden gates?

    I was told european / french oak was pretty cheap. But sapele, No that ain't durable, interior yea but not exterior, If your set up to manufacture and take on the job, Iroko should be no problem for you, and if she likes it, Then you will have a happy customer. Iroko will take the punishment.

    I use the C's out on site especially if its in damp conditions or on things such as fencing or deckings. They work a treat.

    Hardwood window frames timber??

    I can't speak for yours, but normally any cheap rubbish. mass produced hardwood windows, have no real density to them. I know that doesn't mean its not durable, but most windows are from a Meranti type. Or as alot of timber merchants around here class it as, Far Eastern Red Hardwood...

    Workbench Plans

    A 1/2hr door blank. Is that agricultural enough for you. It is for me. Loads of narrow laminated timbers strips topped with 3mm ply. 8x4 does me. :shock: :lol:

    I would totally agree with that one, if you go horizontally you will be using striaght cutter, and probably putting more pressure on the cutter doing it that way than using say a rebate or grooving cutter the convensional way

    Only because I have never seen a saw tip or planer blade letting go, but I have seen a cutter snap on an overhead router.

    I think its bad enough a router bit snapping in a vertical position far less a horizontal position I wouldn't do it.
