Afternoon all, A friend of mine had some bathroom furniture made from teak by a very talented woodworker (ie not me!) - a sink and a japanese style bath. It's the best sink I've ever seen in my life and I want one in my bathroom... :) He is trying to source the oil / finish used on the teak...

The hardest sell for me is always SWMBO and Mum. I've got an 18 month old daughter and work till latish usually Mon-Fri, so weekend time is at a premium and opportunities for mid-week woodworking are virtually zero. The conversation usually goes something like... SWMBO : "We need a new [x]"...

Yeuchk - that means having to use HAND TOOLS?!?!?! If I can't plug it in, I don't use it! :lol:

What about considering using a router to rout out the letters from the solid board, rather than cutting them out individually and mounting them on a separate piece of wood? Just a thought...!

Ridiculous! Probably aimed at rich, gadget mad men who see 'new' technology and have to have it - forget whether it has any benefit or produces a truer, more accurate cut - they can buy the machine and show it off to friends! I certainly won't be at the front of the queue for this one - stick...

Very nice, you can't beat a good bit of oak, I say!! I've built one Oak bench for the garden and am going to build an identical one plus matching table. I'll try and get round to taking pics and putting it on here when I do (very naughty - I always forget to take pics along the way).

Looks good - I'm impressed (same as everyone else!) with the tidiness, if I were to take a photo of my garage . workshop now it wouldn't be quite as tidy as that...! Although, having said that, if I were to post photos of my workshop I guess I'd make sure it looked as tidy as that before taking...

I want to make some squiggly wood!! Would be great fun in a kids toy with balls like in the video. Just need to work it out with my power tools... watch this space... :lol:

Sometimes it's the mattress that's noisy, not the bed frame. You could always try sleeping in bed and getting up to those other activities elsewhere?! :D

The issue is finding inspiration on things to build rather than sourcing the wood - I've got a workshop (ie garage!) full of wood, offcuts and otherwise! Boxes might be the way to go...
