    Celotex insulation under concrete?

The problem can be that celotex floats in concrete, particularly if the mix is a bit wet.

    2 x 18mm laminated softwood ply Benchtop ?

It's only fox wedging if the mortice is blind, otherwise it's just a wedged through tenon. BTW the first method shown is not particularly good, as soon as the glue gives up the tenon can slide out, that is why it is properly done using the second method shown. Sorry if I sound a bit like Mr G...

Where to buy extra long drill bits?

Strangely coincidentally there was an e-mail shot from Rutlands yesteday on this very subject. http://www.rutlands.co.uk/cgi-bin/psPro ... gi?promo=6

    4 drawer unit - WIP - COMPLETED!

For future reference you really ought to put the dowel as close to the shoulder of the joint as reasonably possible. The cross grain of the stile will move seasonally while the long grain of the tenon won't. The result will be stress on, and eventual failure of, the glue, and an open gap at the...

    Miller dowels?

Screws are not so good into end grain.

    Will I need a cyclone?

I saw it at W10, and yes it does take (and in fact requires) a bag.

    Miller dowels?

If you drill straight through and use ordinary dowels you will see the grooves on the end. Not a good sight.

    Miller dowels?

ETV - yes, it goes in the boot of a Discovery, holds guns, cartridges etc. in the drawers and the dog goes in the r.h.s. For me the advantages of MDs over ordinary ones are twofold. First you drill the holes in both parts at once from the outside. So there's no messing around with jigs, dowel...

    Will I need a cyclone?

5 micron filtration is not good enough for fine dust, it just recirculates the stuff - as you have found. To get rid if the harmful fine stuff you really need less than 1 micron.

    Miller dowels?

Miller dowels are quick and easy to use, another weapon in the arsenal. The carcase of this boot chest is assembled with Miller dowels and pocket hole screws.

Workshop Lights - AquaLine or Sylvania

They are a lot whiter than the ordinary tubes they replaced. The place just feels brighter.

Workshop Lights - AquaLine or Sylvania

Jake and I will have to differ on that then. Or at least I don't think I've got crazy bright lighting in my w'shop. Just a mo... 12 single 5 footers in just over 50m2. Does that count as crazy bright? EDIT: The tubes are Osram Lumilux Cool Daylight 58w to be explicit.

Workshop Lights - AquaLine or Sylvania

Whatever you decide two things: 1) Get fittings with high frequency control gear. They switch on immediately, suffer less from strobing effect with rotating machinery and are more efficient. 2) Get daylight/high colour temperature tubes. Much better colour rendition.

I was going to suggest Screwfix, but their range seems to have shrunk somewhat.

    Repairing a table top

Once you've stripped the finish (or even before it it's not shellac), and before you get into heavy sanding/planing/scraping), if the damage is caused by compression rather than (or as well as) gouging, it would be worth trying to steam the damage out. Apply drops of water to the damaged area...

    Best glue?

If you're just worried about gluebrication and are not going to use edge tools on the joint afterwards then drop a few grains of sand into the glue before offering the pieces up. That should work for the wood-wood joints, though I'm not sure if it would on Corian, but it's probably worth a try.
