On the left of the long sections in this last picture is some AWO - 1x8 boards - for a tv cabinate, the rest is Ash for a cot.

ive always thought cherry and maple go lovely together, a little on the light side but nice all the same. cherry and walnut is also suited and gives a darker alternative - but would show a lot of figure, maybe too much to contrast with your existing furniture.

I was going to use this as a cabinet :lol: for keeping the plates and glasses tidy. It will sit at the bottom of our kitchen away from the steamy end.
