    The best recipe to go for would be the Milwaukee recips i've used both Makita, Dewalt and Milwaukee. Dewalt are good and the makita is ok but Milwaukee (the inventors of recips) i Think are by far the best you cant go wrong with it ive had mine for 4 years now, no problems.

    I doubt it, long as you set the depth right on the nails and i suppose it also depends on how large and how thick the shiplap is to whether it will split or not, but if you stay away from the edges you should be fine anyways oh and also what nails you use, smooth galvanised would work best imo...

    Have you got a selco near you? Last time I bought MDF from there it was 10+vat 18mm but I use jewsons for ply at around £25 a sheet although I do have a trade account with them...
