    Axminster TS250-2 modifications.

Thanks Mike, I'll both try and find the thread you mention and re-evaluate how easily I could make some bars up. Cheers, P

    Axminster TS250-2 modifications.

Hi, Finally getting into building a rolling cabinet of sorts for my TS-250M. I managed to get the blade squared etc years ago (though rather ore fiddly than it seems the subsequent 250-2 is) by banging the rods the motor hangs from through the gap at the back of the table. Not sure if I can...

    jcb router

Hi, It works fine. I ended up making a shim to go under the rotating depth stop tower, to stop it wobbling, and seems to work well. Have used it a bit, but not extensively. Not bad as a first router I think.

    Axminster TS Series Mitre Bar

Thanks for the replies. The UJK fence is exactly the one I bought, on the current deal, and am fitting. I'm not sure what size the slot is, but it's not 'standard' as the bar with the fence doesn't fit. Not quite sure how if go about get a bar machines, but will look into helicoils, which...

    Axminster TS Series Mitre Bar

Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on sourcing a replacement bar for the mitre fence that comes with the Axminster TS-250M ? I've bought one of the UJK upgrade mitre fences and just about retrofitted it to the existing bar, only I made a wee mistake and drilled a 6mm hole (instead...

Axminster upgrade bandsaw/ tablesaw fence review

Just finished installing this fence on my ts-250m (mk1). Fiddling with the grub screws and realigning the roller bearings didn't help with square at all, as the fence clamps the front edge and the bearings play no role in that. Was just a matter of loosening the two large Allen bolts on the top...

    Axminster TS-200 Setup

If anyone has any pictures of how to align the blade correctly (where to tap etc) that would be really handy. I've just put the Axminster upgrade fence on my ts250 mk1 and now that it's square to the slots, the blade is a wee bit off. I've loosened off the front bolts and hit the ends of the two...

    Fitting a fence upgrade

Thanks Steve, that's exactly what I needed to know. Will line the left end up just to the left of the blade, to give enough bracket width for stability. Cheers, Pete

    Fitting a fence upgrade

I'm in the process of creating a unit for my TS-250 to go on, having got fed up of using it in the floor and with only the little top to work with. Also got irritated enough with the rip fence to buy the Axminster Upgrade Fence, which on first inspection I'm pretty impressed with. I've worked...

    Metabo SXE 450 options

Thanks for the replies - I've taken the advice and ordered a bare SXE450 (£137 from FFX) and used the difference to get a mix pack of Abranet discs and a couple of interface pads to protect the backing pad on eBay. Interestingly, despite being the same vendor (Southern Filters) eBay was a fair...

    Metabo SXE 450 options

Hello - I'm just about to pull the trigger on a Metabo SXE 450 - and the options seem to be either - Bare unit 'Pro Pack' with some sanding pads, polishing pad, case The latter costs £80 more. As if plan to use abratec discs and a suitable backing pad (seems to be the preferred option in...

    Another Traffic Cone Cylconic Separator

Hi Geoff, I think the dust commander has a preset internal pipe, so the vac should just be attached to the top end of the connector. I've used a noshed together adaptor (rolled plastic cone and duct tape) to connect to the outside and seems to work fine. Hope that helps. Cheers Pete

    Another Traffic Cone Cylconic Separator

Hi, Been meaning to put this up for ages, after making a separator to 'protect' a new shop vac (Karcher WD 5.2MP) last year. Inspiration largely from another post of a similar project somewhere else on this site. Has taken me this long to sit down and work out the photo posting system, and how...

Thanks folks, that's reassuring. Cheers, Pete

New Axminster TS-250M Table Warp - how bad is too bad?

Hi - yesterday I took delivery of my first table saw, a shiny new TS-250M. As per various recommendations the first thing I've done is check the top for flatness. As far as I can work out there is a 0.08mm concavity just left of the blade opening, between blade and left mitre slot and only...
