    Watching Norm NYW - is translation needed?

    I bought a DeWalt 745 table saw which has a riving knife to which the guard is attached, the riving knife is therefore much higher than the saw blade and is impossible to lower below the height of the blade. As far as I can see the only solution would be to remove it.

    I served a 7 year apprenticeship, obtained my City & Guilds, and spent the rest of my working life as a professional painter & decorator, so at last I am able to offer some advice in this forum. I would use zinc oxide paint as the base coat on the garage door as it is an anticorrosive coating...

    Crazy car insurance.

    Post codes also have an influence in insurance quotes. The area of Penwortham in which I live is 2 miles outside the Preston boundary, but has the same post code as Preston.     We used to call this game 'piggy' in Lancashire and it wasn't illegal to play it in the streets, but you had to 'pay for your own china' if a window got broken, mind you I'm probably going back further in time than John is.

    Mark, I freely admit to knowing nothing about woodworking, but would it be possible to use dowels let into the top of the brackets and the shelf lowered onto them ?
