I'm in the process of laminating some lovely old pine 2x4 for a workbench top.
Planing it all down by hand so there's a few small gaps after gluing up/clamping...I'm getting better at squaring boards but even so...
I'm a painter and decorator by trade so my usual routine would be to whack in some two-part, sand it down with the Deros then smash some primer undercoat on (job's a goodun, home in time for Pointless!), but seeing as I'm trying for the traditional tools, techniques and finishes in my woodwork what would be the best approach?
First question, be gentle with me...

Well depending on how big the gaps are sawdust and wood glue will fill the small ones and the wider ones you can glue in slivers of wood.
Or just think it will add character to the top.

:D
