I am looking to buy a Bobbin/Oscillating sander, and I wonder if anyone here on the forum has any reviews on a Woodstar. I know this comes in at the low end of the market, but as money is tight I need to look at this level of cost approx £120. Another reason is that I will have good use for a sander like this but I can also get by with the old fashioned method of elbow grease.
I normally use Axminster tools Jet and so on, but their cheapest sells for approx £300.

Dermot,

I've got the Draper version which from memory is exactly the same apart from the badge.

It's OK, does what it says on the tin. Quiet (ish) and the dust extraction works pretty well.

The table is fixed and you might find this a bit limiting in the future but for what I do it's not a problem.

Easy enough to make any fences you want and clamp in place.

Worth investing in finer grade loadings as the 80 mine came with are a bit coarse if you want a good finish.

Not bad for the money but as all things you do tend to get what you pay for.

Stuart
