1st of all, I am thinking of making a wooden tambour or even buying one with the kit; opinions please, and any help would be welcome.
2nd I wish to make a wooden cupboard/box to put my mitre saw in on the work bench. I was thinking of some how attaching a tambour inside the box by attaching the front handle to the mitre saw handle so that every time i make a cut by pulling the handle down, the tambour will come down also; so in theory this will keep the dust inside the cupboard/box and out through the extractor. What's your opinions? Can you buy a kit that would suit it's purpose and retract back when you finish the cut? A bigger version of something like in the photo below

I can't think of anything that would achieve what you want. Have you thought, for example, how a tambour which will only ever slide up, down and around on a fixed track in a pre-determined direction could be made to work when you set the saw for either/or/or both mitre and bevel cuts?

In general unimpeded visual and working access is required at the front of the machine and to both sides, so my first thoughts are that your idea is impractical, and secondly, might even contribute to making it dangerous. Extraction with these machines is never perfect, but a decent rear hood and plenty of airflow help a great deal. Slainte.

Not related to your tambour question but in terms of a dust hood for your mitre saw, have a look at YouTube - Rob Cosman’s workshop tour (I think it was no.2).
He has what I would describe as a tent / fishing shelter arrangement (which is evidentially collapsible) for dust collection. I’ve never seen one of these before so apologies if you already know about it but if not, it’s worth a look.

How about using a cheap roller blind, a lot quicker to set up and more flexible! Just a random thought.
