(homer) Why are there not more women in woodwork most blokes agree thst its the wives who mostly drive what they make,
mine being no exception ie I´d like a table to go there or can´t you make me a spice rack to get rid of these packets from the food cupboard and I´m sure the members can relate other tales of suggested makings. So you might think that one or two more would pick up the tools and have a go. I did try to teach my wife to woodturn once when she got bored having to sit around with a broken ankle, but the speed of the thing wizzing round put her off. So it was back to can you make xyz for the house.

Hi
I taught woodwork evening classes for 30 years, I would guess that
there was a split of 65% women to 35% men.
The women produced some excellent work and would listen to advice.
Some of the men would say "No, I want to do it this way!".
Why few women continued as a hobby at home ?
Probably the investment in costly tools, no space to work and perhaps they prefer
a more sociable hobby.
