Just got the usual Wednesday email - Axminster have Winbag air wedges on offer. Now at ten quid each (£9.96),

I bought a box of four last time they were on offer - truly wonderful things, and having four available has been really useful, especially for door hanging single-handed.

Beware though - this time they seem only to have applied the discount to singles! Might be worth calling them if you intend to get four.

E.

PS: they look like they ought to be a gimmick but they're really tough and officially can each lift 100kg.

Seconded. I use them for all sorts of things I shouldn't.

Levelling a fridge or a washing machine (or an insanely heavy cast iron saw) is SO easy with these things.

To be fair, I have 4 and usually don't reach for the second pair.

Ditto.

But whenever you've got to level anything with a gap beneath of 1/16" or more, they're the business.

I normally slip in some plywood packers if it's too big a gap to fill with one winbag - I honestly don't know how I managed before I got these - hanging doors, fake b00bs, 80s shoulder pads, they've been used for everything around the workshop.
