Hi

I need some 1" x 7" hardwood bookmatching so cutting into 2 x 1/2"x 7" pieces

I've used 2 local joinery companies before but results were not great. Does anyone have a good big bandsaw setup well that is capable of doing this for some cash? Preferably in the midlands area but I do drive around a lot for work. I don't want it done on a table saw as it looses too much material.

Thanks
Dave

It really needs somebody with a re-saw (stenner or similar), which I would have thought would be quite a common machine in a joinery shop that makes windows and doors. In reality though these machines are usually used for rough secondary conversion so probably are not well set up.

I could do it, but not local unfortunately.

No need for a resaw. Have cut best part of 12" deep on a Startrite 301 just needs a good blade and a fettle.
Again would happily do it for you but a very long trip. Hope you find someone close by.

Dave,
I've got a Record RSBS12, which I BELIEVE would do it.
I am away for two weeks, but am based in Stourbridge, so if you want to give it a go when I get back, you'll be most welcome.
Drop me a PM and I'll get in touch when I'm back.
HTH
Greg

A big resaw like a stenner will lose as much material in the kerf as a thin kerf table saw blade, you would be better with a well set up standard band saw.
