Hi,

I need a couple of 2400 x 1220 sheets of 18mm birch ply delivered to Coulsdon in Surrey. I often use Champion Timber (who will deliver free) however their birch ply seems very expensive at over £100 per sheet -> http://www.championtimber.com/sheet-mat ... ch-plywood

Is this the right sort of price for birch ply or can anyone recommend somewhere who can supply at a better price?

Cheers
Mark

Seems to be available at half that price, not free delivery though:

I usually use Champion in Guildford, the staff there are excellent. I was planning to go on Monday for some sheets of veneered MDF but having seen this I think I'll check the price elsewhere first.

Somewhere in the £45 to £50 +vat should be possible for 18mm birch ply.

Timber merchants buy from sheet material suppliers and put on a large margin so are often expensive for slower moving items.

If you are in South London maybe try Richard Russell panels. Meyer timber probably cover your area

Those prices are more what I expected. I will try some of those options.

Thanks chaps :)

B&Q used to stock birch ply (8x4 in 18mm), and cut it to size.
I can't see it on their website now, so maybe discontinued, anyone know?
Might be worth a visit if there's a branch nearby...

I have used Richard Russel Panels in Croydon for Latvian birch ply. Much better prices than Champions or Alsfords, and free delivery. Some time since I last used them though.
