I'm making 18 large steps for my house, requires more than 1m^3 of oak, and a LOT of clamps...

Heh, I need to be able to very quickly get the right clamp in place with these steps. Need to get them almost perfectly flat, just going to be through a sanding machine after with max 1mm stock removal.

i notice you have both bessey and axminister clamps

I have some bessey clamps and was considering trying the axminister ones, which would you say is the better clamp?

You know you have too many clamps when you have to start with knolling. :-D

I wrote about all my clamps at length here: post1019375.html#p1019375

The Bessey are the best, however the Axminster ones are very close, and cheaper. Although not a huge amount, enough if you buy 10 to make a decent difference!
