Hi all,
I was given 2 of these at a car boot when I mentioned I was getting into woodturning & general woodworking. I'd bought some stuff from this guy previously, & he had no idea what they were.
My guess, through ignorance, is to hold a saw for sharpening.

Any help please?

Looks more like a clamp for fixing a tool or game (e.g. coffee grinder or table tennis)

I can't read the letters in the picture - can you, on the object itself?

The best I can estimate is ' BAMLETT THINSK' or ' SAWLETT THINSK. Really difficult to read. Did a google search & found nothing.
weight wise, around 1.5 lbs each. Heavy duty.

It does look like a table tennis clamp but the horizontal thumbscrew would be over the table where it would get in the way of play. What does that bit do? Would it clamp a rod inserted into the upper bit (ie top rhs of your picture)?

Could it be for holding a cutting bar while sharpening?
Big bit clamps to the machine.

Nice work!
Here's 2 more pics showing the name & the small clamp.

Well, I've had a search & can't find anything relative to this. & it's not related to woodworking.
I'll try to use somewhere though, maybe as a saw holder.

Thanks guys, an interesting aside!
