So I know I want to buy a Festool Midi extractor. So they are £300 I have a voucher so I might as well add to it and make the most of it. But what else should I consider?

I've got:

CXS
OF 1400
TS55
And a Domino 500

Not sure anything else is jumping out as a must have. Except the Kapex but not sure I can justify the cost.

I see you copy and pasted the same question on the FOG, and as someone there said, get a sander. Obviously, that's only if you need a sander, like with any tool, only buy it if you are going to use it. Makes you a collector otherwise, there's a few on the FOG.

Do you have a sander?

So what does this voucher entitle you to in terms of discount? If we know that, and your potential budget, then the answer will be a lot easier to find :)

Also if we knew what you do... Like if you build furniture, I'd say the domino without a doubt. It's an awesome machine.

There's one listed in the OP.

I know - I was giving an example of which item in his list I would recommend if he made furniture :)

Sounded like an advert, apologies for misunderstanding.

I do all sorts of things, I recently built beds, but I do a bit of turning, the odd box. I guess furniture mainly. I do have a Bosch sander but don't know how it compares to a Festool option. I've got the vouchers that others have so £50 off of £500 or £100 of off £800. Can't see me going to £1500 even if I got a Capex.

I'm half tempted by a sander but don't know if it is going to be much different to my Bosch.

Ets ec 150 is very nice. One handed 150mm sander that likes abranet. What's not to like.

Fast stock removal, reasonably quiet and will make your Bosch feel like an antique.

I might have to have a look at a few options. What's the difference between the ETC and the Rotex?

Gearing. You won't use a Rotex one handed either. The EC is the newer smaller brushless ETS.

Odd, my last post has disappeared. Was it because I questioned the 'true' worth of the voucher?

Anyway, main point was I hated sanding, my old Bosch being about as effective as waving a sheet of sandpaper at the timber from several streets away.

Lured by a really special offer I shelled out on a Rotex RO150 - what a difference! It is bit of an animal but makes light work of smoothing and stripping. I am tempted to supplement it with a RO90 for smaller pieces and fine work with the delta option.

Thanks - I do agree about the worth of the voucher. My view is that I'll be spending £300 anyway. So £50 saving on the remaining £200 is 25% off. So when I tell MrsStu I got 25% off she will be impressed! Man maths!

Thanks for the input. I ended up going for the Rotex 125. I was tempted by the 150 but as well as the difference in cost it also felt a bit too big in my hands.
