I've made some business card cases and have been trying to find a suitable hinge and clasp, then I found this on one of my wife's jewellery boxes and thought it might be perfect. No idea what I am searching for though.

One for the box makers I suspect.

Those look like the devil's own job to fit, any tips?
 
i havent fitted any, i just remembered where i had seen them. I would have thought that with a pillar drill and a jig they shouldnt be too bad to do.
 
You'd be drilling into a rounded or chamfered edge though? Which would throw the drill bit centreline off. Or is it a case of drilling, hoping for the best, then rounding over/chamfering?

[Eta] Yeah seen Rob Cosman's hinges, probably beyond my skill set tbh! :roll:

Yes. Drill before chamfering. No need to hope for the best. Just figure out where you want the holes and drill them. Cut the chamfer to suit.
