What is this? Came with Axi planer WP150

Hi,
I recently bought an axi wp150 planer and after unpacking it found this in the box...

I cant find any reference to it in the instructions or parts list. It wasn't used to package anything and I can find no obvious use for it. I am sure it is just me being thick and a bit of a noob with machinery, but any advice would be appeciated before i lose it at the bottom of a box somewhere! It is aluminium and measures approx 120x50x25mm.

My guess is it is used for setting the height of the blades in the cutter block. I had something similar with the record 300pt. Never used it just bought a set of micro adjusters, holders.
