What is hard burnishing oil?

Can anyone tell me what hard burnishing oil is please?

I've done some research and it's not at all clear....i saw it used on a pine stand with some end grain showing.

The oil was applied and sanded into the stand using 120 grit up to 800grit.

I think you will find it is a Tung Oil based formulation (Organoil?) I would suspect any Hard Wax oil formulation would respond to wet abrasion build to fill grain pores.

It's a marketing name, in the long tradition of "we're not really telling you much about the product" of Danish oil, teak oil, tung oil finish and more recently hardwax oil :?
