Just finished this box which is a wedding present for my nephew in Devon, it's made from reclaimed Oak with a gold satin base ontop of 1/4" ply. This is the second box I've made, there are faults, but I would give it a 7.5 out of 10. Got a long drive tommorrow for the wedding on Saturday then a long drive back on Sunday, thinking about it we must be mad, but the wife loves a good wedding and hopefully it will be just that. I will lock the box and tell them they can have the key on their first wedding anniversary, inside we will put an anniversary card, your first wedding anniversary is paper so that fits in nicely with the card, this is not my idea, another member on this site did it, I've just 'borrowed' it.

Very nice indeed.

I thought it was going to be really big - for him to either

a) Hide in when the trouble and strife gets over the honeymoon period, or

b) Put the wife in when he gets over....

Only joking - happily married, honest!!

I bet they'll be delighted with it. Lovely idea to lock it till next year - make sure you give your missus the key - if you are anything like me, you'll lose it!!

That is really nice. My uncle turned a nice bowl for our wedding present and I still cherish it 10 years later.

Have a nice drive - I like a good road journey :D
