I know its not exciting but Im really struggling with the finish colour.

Im trying to match to the doors, which were stripped and then dyed by one of the previous owner.

Its warmer than dark oak, but lighter than jacobean dark oak and the grain hasn't been completely hidden. So far my best match was JDO and 2 coats of rustic oak, but it was a little too black an I lost the grain completely.

It around 30%ish dark than Chems "Fitted Wardrobe" post.

Does anyone have a nice warm dark brown recipe they care to share ? Its destined for a chunky coffee table.

You can make various shades of brown with Van Dyke crystals depending on the mix concentration (with water).
I have no experience of using it on Redwood though?

You could also use water walnut and to get the exact colour mix with mid broun.Redwood is tricky you may need to use some pigment colours mixed with shellac and meths.See what every one says and try on a bit of wood that is not seen to much .Good luck.
