A Walnut bowl from a truck I got last year which I rough turned which enabled me to turn it as all the movement has now finished. I forgot to measure this one but it is about 11".

The Character of the tree lives on, English Walnut has such a distinctive pronounced grain compared with American Black, or is it just that it is more obvious in the lighter shaded wood.

I agree about the English Walnut I still have some more of this to turn.

I must have been lucky with the piece of ABW I brought from the timber yard as it had some great grain in it with quite a bit of what looks like quilting it was 5" X 2" and 36" long it was leaning to one side as the last customer did not want that grain in the project so they just cut it off they charged me £5.
