A lot of patience in assembly and a fair amount of trepidation on the turning front by the look of it, pyrography would be a move too far for me as well.

If you like OTT then go for it but like the others I would leave as is.

Was planning on pyro to create more depth to the spiral - theres more to go wrong that way i think
