Ryobi, Bosch and Dewalt all market fixed base routers in the UK. There's probably others as well.

Thanks, they look a bit close for comfort, running a 1.4kw Router, possibly a bigger one.

Looked for Bosch 1617 and 1618 and Dewalt 610/618/616 and couldn't find them in UK, looking for something potentially to fit in a Jessem router lift. My Router table just died :(

At 3KVA intermittent for several transformers in that link I would think it most unlikely that a router under normal use in a table would be a problem.
European specified model router would be my choice though saving both need for transformer and shipping costs.

First time I followed link I saw only up to 1.5, I think it auto presented me the non-uk euro version.

I think I am veering away from US router and router lift towards triton now anyway... I just noticed quite a few people posted about using portercable and others, and wondered what they did...

Hi there

The USA is 110 volts but at 60Hz freq, we are 230volts at 50Hz which is where you will have issues as the frequency determines Ac motor speed. The uk site transformers are 110 volt centre taped so the output is 55-0-55 volts so that the biggest kick you will get is 55 volts, much safer but the USA is just 0-110. Hope this helps.
